Solar Energy as a Component of the Educational Process
The goal of the project is to create conditions for the development of solar energy in the Khmelnytskyi community through the creation of infrastructure and the construction of an educational process in the Higher Vocational College № 25.
The activities during the project implementation will help the Higher Vocational College № 25 to become a center for training solar power plant (SPP) installer specialists, both among students of the relevant specialization, and among representatives of the communal sector, the associations of co-owners of apartment buildings, and other interested persons of the Khmelnytskyi community.
Thanks to the project, the college is equipped with components for a solar power plant with fastening means and an electricity storage device. The availability of such equipment makes it possible to integrate the topic of solar energy into the educational process, which will allow obtaining relevant qualification skills in the college.
Implementation of the project allows to solve the following problems:
- lack of specialists in the field of renewable energy sources (RES)
- availability of thematic education
- an opportunity to practically see how the SPP works
- backup power supply for the college
- lack of SPP at vocational education institutions in the Khmelnytskyi community
Thus, during the project, these activities were implemented:
- purchase of equipment and installation of the SPP for the training process
- arranging the classroom with technical equipment and information stands
- the college tutors joined the advanced training courses in the field of solar energy
- development of educational materials
- organization of a training course on solar energy
Cooperation with the Higher Vocational College № 25 has become truly systematic because this is not the first project implemented jointly. In particular, at the end of 2022, the college implemented the "Sunny Bench" project as part of the "Climate School of Leadership" organized by the Khmelnytskyi Energy Cluster.
