As part of the project "Growing of Energy Crops as a Component of Energy Independence of Communities" in Berezdivska, Hannopilska, and Krupetska territorial communities we completed the planting of willow and poplar energy crops.

Before planting, the land was cultivated, then fertilizers were applied, and slits were cut for planting energy crops. The total area of the plots is 6 hectares. It should be noted that nursery plantations of willow and poplar were established in the communities, which will later be used for planting industrial plantations. Eventually, this will enable communities to provide themselves with biomass for heating needs.

In the future, proper care of plantations is important so that weeds and pests do not become a threat to plant growth. That is why project experts continue to work with communities and teach their representatives how to take care of nursery plantations.

   * The project "Growing of Energy Crops as a Component of Energy Independence of Communities" is implemented within the framework of local financial assistance of the "U-LEAD with Europe" Program, which is jointly financed by the European Union and its member states Germany, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, and Slovenia.
